SHORT POEMS

1.
Those we love remain with us
for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade
because a loved one’s gone.
Those we love can never
be more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory,
they’ll live on in the heart.

2.
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, Or you can be full of the love that you shared

3.
Remember me when I am gone

But not with sorrow, pain and grief

Think of me as a turning leaf

That in the winter falls from its branch

To be born again in spring

4.

It would never be goodbye,

For I have left my heart with you,

So don't you ever cry.

The love that's deep within me,

Shall reach you from the stars,

You'll feel it from the heavens,

And it will heal the scars.

5.

She’s in the sun, the wind, the rain,

she’s in the air you breathe

with every breath you take.

She sings a song of hope and cheer,

there’s no more pain, no more fear.

You’ll see her in the clouds above,

hear her whisper words of love,

you’ll be together before long,

until then, listen for her song.

6.

I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun
of happy memories
that I leave when life is done

7.

Those we love don’t go away,
they walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard but always near,
still loved, still missed
and held so dear.

8.

If tears could build a stairway
And memories a lane,
I’d walk right up to Heaven
And bring you back again.

9.

We hold you close within our hearts
And there you shall remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again.

So rest in peace dear loved one
And thanks for all you’ve done,
We pray that God has given you
The crown you’ve truly won.

10.

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what’s to be
A resting place along the road,
To Sweet Eternity
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
But never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know,
For some, the journey’s quicker,
For some, the journey’s slow.
But when the journey finally ends,
We’ll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.

11.

You were someone special
Someone set apart
Your memory will live forever
Engraved within our hearts

12.

Always a smile
Instead of a frown
Always a hand
When someone is down

Always true
Thoughtful and kind
Wonderful memories
You left behind

13.

Those we have held in our arms

 For a little while
We hold in our hearts forever

14.

We miss your smile your joking ways

We miss the things you used to say
And when old times we do recall
It’s then we miss you most of all

15.

Don’t remember me with sadness
Don’t remember me with tears
Remember all the laughter
We’ve shared throughout the years

When you are walking down the street
And you’ve got me on your mind
I’m walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind

And when you feel the gentle breeze
Or the wind upon your face
I’m giving you a great big hug
Or just a soft embrace

So please don’t be unhappy
Just because I’m out of sight
Remember that I’m with you
Each morning, noon and night

16.

Time for me to go now, I won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows,
way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,
Just look for me and love me,
as you know I loved you.

Time for me to leave you,
 I won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows,
high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset,
when all the world is through,
Just look for me and love me,
and I'll be close to you

LONG POEMS

1.

For a second you were flying

Like you always wanted to

Now you’ll fly forever

In skies of azure blue

We’ll see your smile in every ray

Of sunshine after rain

And hear the echo of your laughter

Over all the pain

The world’s a little quieter now

The colours have lost their hue

The birds are singing softly

And our hearts are missing you

Each time we see a little cloud

Or a rainbow soaring high

We’ll think of you and gently

Wipe a tear from our eye.

2.

Feel no guilt in laughter, he'd know how much you care. Feel no sorrow in a smile that he is not here to share.

You cannot grieve forever; he would not want you to. He'd hope that you could carry on the way you always do.

So, talk about the good times and the way you showed you cared,

The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared. Let memories surround you, a word someone may say

Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day,

That brings him back as clearly as though he were still here, And fills you with the feeling that he is always near.

For if you keep those moments, you will never be apart. And he will live forever locked safely within your heart.

3.

You can shed tears that he is gone,

Or you can smile because he lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him. Or you can be full of the love that you shared, You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,

Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember him and only that he is gone, Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on, You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes,

love and go on.

4.

When I am gone, release me, let me go.

I have so many things to see and do,

You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears,

But be thankful we had so many good years.

I gave you my love, and you can only guess

How much you've given me in happiness.

I thank you for the love that you have shown,

But now it is time I traveled on alone.

So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must,

Then let your grief be comforted by trust.

It is only for a while that we must part,

So treasure the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away for life goes on.

And if you need me, call and I will come.

Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near.

And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear,

All my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you come this way alone,

I'll greet you with a smile and a 'Welcome Home.'

5.

I know that no matter what

You will always be with me.

When life separates us

I’ll know it is only your soul

Saying goodbye to your body

But your spirit will be with me always.

When I see a bird chirping on a nearby branch

I will know it is you singing to me.

When a butterfly brushes gently by me so care freely

I will know it is you assuring me you are free from pain.

When the gentle fragrance of a flower catches my attention

I will know it is you reminding me

To appreciate the simple things in life.

When the sun shining through my window awakens me

I will feel the warmth of your love.

When I hear the rain pitter patter against my window sill

I will hear your words of wisdom

And will remember what you taught me so well

That without rain trees cannot grow

Without rain flowers cannot bloom

Without life’s challenges I cannot grow strong.

When I look out to the sea

I will think of your endless love for your family.

When I think of mountains, their majesty and magnificence

I will think of your courage for your country.

No matter where I am

Your spirit will be beside me

For I know that no matter what

You will always be with me.

6.

There is a train at the station

With a seat reserved just for me

I’m excited about its destination

As I’ve heard it sets you free

The trials and tribulations

The pain and stress we breathe

Don’t exist were I am going

Only happiness I believe

I hope that you will be there

To wish me on my way

It’s not a journey you can join in

It’s not your time today

There’ll be many destinations

Some are happy, some are sad

Each one a brief reminder

Of the great times that we’ve had

Many friends I know are waiting

Who took an earlier train

To greet and reassure me

That nothing has really changed

We’ll take the time together

To catch up on the past

To build a new beginning

One that will always last

One day you’ll take your journey

On the train just like me

And i promise that I’ll be there

At the station and you will see

That Life is just a journey

Enriched by those you meet

No one can take that from you

It’s always yours to keep’

But now as no seat is vacant

You will have to muddle through

Make sure you fulfill your ambitions

As you know I’ll be watching you

And if there’s an occasion

To mention who you knew

Speak kindly of that person

As one day it will be you

IRISH POEMS

1.

The Parting Glass
Oh all the time that e’er I spent, I spent it in good company; And any harm that e’er I’ve done, I trust it was to none but me; May those I’ve loved through all the years Have memories now they’ll e’er recall; So fill me to the parting glass, Goodnight, and joy be with you all. Oh all the comrades that e’er I had, Are sorry for my going away; And all the loved ones that e’er I had Would wish me one more day to stay. But since it falls unto my lot That I should leave and you should not, I’ll gently rise and I’ll softly call Goodnight, and joy be with you all. Of all good times that e’er we shared, I leave to you fond memory; And for all the friendship that e’er we had I ask you to remember me; And when you sit and stories tell, I’ll be with you and help recall; So fill to me the parting glass, God bless, and joy be with you all.

2.
In Irish skies, where laughter rings, A memory of joy, a love that clings, Your humor, a treasure, a gift you'd share, In moments tough, you'd show your care. We'll miss the laughter, your jokes, your fun, But cherish the moments, one by one, For in our hearts, you'll always stay, Laughter in the Irish skies, in memory's play. Our dear one, forever near, A love eternal, undying, clear, In laughter's embrace, we find our peace, A love unbroken, a bond that's ceaseless.

3.

In life's sweet journey, your greatness shone, A love divine, a spirit strong, You stood for truth, faced battles unseen, An Irish heart, a love that's keen. Your love, a force, so pure, so true, A great person, through and through, Though you're gone, your memory stays, Irish legacy, through darkest days. We'll honor your life, your memory hold, A love unwavering, a story untold, Our dear one, forever near, Irish legacy, in memory clear.

4.

May the roads rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon fields
 And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

5.

In fields of green, where shadows fall, I long for your presence, your laughter's call, I miss the days we'd dance and sing, Side by side, in love's sweet ring. In gentle silence, your love remains, Through joy and sorrow, life's sweet refrains, An Irish spirit, a love so true, Emerald memories, I miss you. In whispered prayers, I'll find my peace, A love unbroken, a bond that's ceaseless, My dear one, forever near, Emerald memories, undying, clear.

6.

I am that little robin
That sits upon a tree
I sing to you each morning
But you don’t know it’s me

I am that little robin
In your garden every day
I will watch over you
And be by your side
I will never fly away

7.

The beauty of the Irish hills

Has always been a balm to my soul.

To think that Heaven must be

Even more glorious than Ireland

Fills me with a desire to see it.

So I've gone ahead of all of you,

But rest assured,

I'll be there when you catch up.

8.

The heart of a farmer, strong and kind, A life of love, you left behind, Through drought and storm, you never wavered, Your spirit unwavering, a love we savored. Your hands, weathered and worn, A testament to the life you've borne, A great person, a soul so pure, Your legacy of love, forever to endure. In the fertile soil, where seeds take root, We'll remember your greatness, a love so resolute, The heart of a farmer, eternally, A beacon of hope, guiding us to see.

9.

Let us gather 'round, beneath the sky so wide, To celebrate the life of the farmer who stood by our side, A master of the earth, with hands so strong, Who nourished the land, all life-long. In sunlit fields, we'll dance and play, Remembering the love, that still holds sway, The seeds you've sown, in hearts and land, Grow and flourish, a legacy so grand. A harvest of memories, we shall reap, The laughter, the love, forever to keep, A farmer's life, a testament of grace, Your memory lives on, in this sacred place.

2.

Perhaps you sent a lovely card,
Or sat quietly in a chair,
Perhaps you sent a funeral spray,
If so we saw it there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words,
As any friend could say;
Perhaps you were not there at all,
Just thought of us that day,
Whatever you did to console our hearts,
We thank you so very much,
Whatever the part.
